Anthony De Almeida
Anthony De Almeida is an entrepreneur, investor, and capital strategist with more than two decades of experience building companies, advising business owners, and structuring financing solutions across North America. He operates at the intersection of finance, entrepreneurship, and business leadership, combining hands on operational experience with deep insight into capital markets and growth strategy.
In 2001, Anthony co-founded CanEquity, one of Canada’s first nationally licensed online finance brokerage platforms, helping pioneer the shift toward digital financial services. The company surpassed $200 million in annual sales within five years, generated over 60,000 secure applications, and contributed to more than $3 billion in closed real estate transactions.
He later expanded into business advisory and capital strategy as CEO of Formiga Capital, working with small and mid market companies on restructuring, direct financing, and growth initiatives, while developing specialty finance programs with organizations including Costco Canada, Mayo Clinic, GMAC, and Ally Bank.
Today, Anthony serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The UnBankers, where he leads alternative financing strategies that move beyond traditional banking, helping business owners access flexible capital solutions to support sustainable growth.
Anthony serves as Chief Executive Officer of Solidra Capital Partners, where he is responsible for setting the firm’s strategic direction and leading its investment and capital deployment initiatives. He focuses on identifying high quality opportunities, structuring innovative financing solutions, and building partnerships that align long term capital with scalable businesses. His leadership is grounded in disciplined growth, operational excellence, and delivering consistent value to both investors and portfolio companies.
